這難道會是今後酒駕脫罪的大絕招嗎？去年8月間，新北市一名王姓男子駕車載妻子外出用餐，後來卻因倒車不慎擦撞，與對方駕駛談不攏賠償，因此報警處理；不料在警方到達現場前，王男竟跑去一旁超市買了啤酒與烈酒，當街大喝了起來，警方到場後測得他酒測值是0.61毫克酒測值。後來士林地院認為，沒有確切的證據能顯示，王男是在肇事前喝的酒，因此判其無罪。
判決指出，去年8月15日晚間，王男駕車載妻子外出吃飯慶生，後來卻因為倒車不慎擦撞到後方車輛，和對方駕駛談不攏賠償金額，因此只好報警處理。
不料在警方抵達現場前，王男疑似「急中生智」，竟趕緊跑到一旁超市買了2罐啤酒、1罐烈酒，當街大喝了起來，待警員到場並為他實施酒測時，發現酒測值果然已超標，將他帶回警局訊問，最後被依公共危險、公然侮辱等罪嫌起訴。
案經士林地院審理，王男矢口否認自己有酒駕，還理直氣壯表示，對方其實只要求他賠償2000元，若是他真有酒駕，「又怎麼敢叫他去報警呢？」
然而受害駕駛則證稱，案發當時他與王男理論時，已聞到王男身上散發著淡淡酒味，懷疑他涉嫌酒駕。但法官卻認為，沒有確切的證據能夠證明王男有在肇事前飲酒，因此判其無罪。

「國泰員工趣味競賽」總決賽今（ 22 ）日登場，進入總決賽的 46 支晉級隊伍，在台大綜合體育館上演大對決。今年趣味競賽邁入第 10 個年頭，高級主管特別組隊，與剛加入公司的新血輪大 PK ，是場中一大亮點。
歷經 5 個月，來自全台 5000 位選手經過激烈角逐後，國泰員工趣味競賽總決賽終於登場，現場布滿 46 面單位大型精神標語旗幟，各隊均展現爭第一的認真態度。
甫上任的總經理劉上旗特地率領高級主管隊與公司未來希望的新血輪 CIP （ Cathay Internship Program ）實習生隊以及媒體聯隊同場較勁，是今年的亮點，觀眾喝采加油連連，熱鬧非凡。而選手們的拚勁也讓劉上旗相當感動，強調「這般正向力量與鬥志，如非眼見為憑，是無法感受與體會的」。

而本次總決賽總成績前十名隊伍，可獲得高額的獎金及獎盃。為了提高各單位創意士氣呈現及啦啦隊應援團的積極度，還特別成立評審團現場評分，並頒發包括獎金、禮券以及價值萬元以上的獎品。
國泰強調，公司成長與員工的付出緊密相關，因此 2016 年基層員工人均福利費用(包含薪資、福利等相關支出)約 116 萬元，相較 2015 年成長 5% 。此外，所有內勤人員、外勤人員過去三年的平均薪津漲幅分別約 3.4% 、 5.5% 。
